Stay up for the midnight sun
Around the June solstice the Interior barely gets dark. Use the extra day.

What it is
In Fairbanks near solstice the sun skims the horizon and the day just continues. Anchorage gets a long twilight rather than full night. It is the week for a late hike, a late tee time, or a river that is still bright at 11. Bring a sleep mask if you need one. The birds will not use it.
Before you go
Solstice week is the peak. Sunscreen still matters at 10 p.m.
