What it is
The Nenana is the rafting trip people add to a Denali visit. The canyon section is real whitewater. The wilderness section is the one for families and first-timers. The water is glacial, which means gray-blue and cold. Outfitters have been on this stretch since the 1970s. You can do it in an afternoon between park buses.
Before you go
Ask which section you are booking. Bring a change of clothes in a dry bag for the ride home.
