What it is
Winter is the real season. Kennels near Fairbanks, Denali, Wasilla, and Talkeetna offer anything from a few hours to multi-day trips where you help feed and bed the dogs. Husky Homestead, at the Denali entrance, is the well-known tour built around Jeff King’s racing kennel. Dress as if you will stand still in the cold, because you will.
Before you go
Mittens beat gloves. Listen to the musher about the gangline. Do not step over lines.
