What it is
Potter Marsh and the Coastal Trail cover a lot from Anchorage. Creamer’s Field in Fairbanks is the easy crane stop. Homer Spit and any seabird cliff add puffins and kittiwakes in summer. Spring and fall migration days are the busy ones. You do not need a pelagic trip to have a real list.
Before you go
Bring binoculars. Boardwalks at Potter Marsh stay usable when the ground is wet.
