What it is
Denali’s park road is the classic place to work on the set, especially sheep on the ridges and caribou on the flats. Moose are common around Anchorage and the Kenai. Wolves are the rare one; count a distant sighting as a gift, not a plan. Keep a long distance, and never approach an animal for a photo.
Before you go
Early morning and evening are better than midday. A spotting scope beats walking closer.
