What it is
Fly-out lodges are how people fish water that has no road. Southwest Alaska and parts of the Interior and the Kenai backcountry are the usual regions. Packages are often all-inclusive and booked a season ahead. You are buying the flight as much as the fishing, so weather can rewrite the week.
Before you go
Ask what happens if planes cannot fly. Pack for bugs and cold rain in the same duffel.
