What it is
Winter fishing around Fairbanks is a local weekend, not an expedition. Guided trips set you up with a heater, a hole, and a chance at pike, stocked fish, or burbot depending on the lake. It pairs well with a northern-lights trip because you are already dressed for the dark season.
Before you go
Confirm ice conditions with whoever is taking you out. Do not drive onto ice you have not been told is sound.
