What it is
The Kenai runs from Kenai Lake to Cook Inlet and carries more than one famous salmon run. Timing is the whole trip: kings, reds, and silvers do not share a calendar. You can fish from the bank in places, drift with a guide, or book a lodge in Cooper Landing or Soldotna. Read the emergency orders before you buy a box of gear. Limits change in-season.
Before you go
Check ADF&G emergency orders the morning you fish. A guide is worth it the first time.
