Hike the Harding Icefield Trail
A long climb above Exit Glacier until the icefield fills the view.

What it is
The trail starts near Exit Glacier in Kenai Fjords National Park and climbs hard to a view of the Harding Icefield. It is the hike people underestimate because it begins at a visitor center. Weather on the top is its own climate. Go in summer, carry more water than feels reasonable at the parking lot, and treat the snow patches as slippery.
Before you go
Check the park site for closures. This is a full day. Fog can erase the view you climbed for.
